Application
Isover SP AL is a single-sided self-adhesive tape made of aluminium foil with a synthetic rubber adhesive layer without fittings.
The tape can be used for airtight and vapour-tight joining of individual strips of Isover R150 film. This tape consists of aluminium foil and synthetic rubber and not only enables the connection of vapour barrier films, but also ensures a perfect seal against the penetration of water vapour. Joining of individual strips of reflective foil in this way is absolutely essential for the correct function of the vapour barrier and is also visually neutral. At the same time, this tape solves re-gluing of the vapour barrier anchoring elements (e.g. staples of the stapler) and repair of minor vapour barrier damage. The Isover SP AL tape cannot be used to connect the foils to the building structures. Isover Vario® Double Fit+ sealant can be used for this purpose. Always consult the manufacturer for this use.
The adhesive layer of the tape does not impair the structure of the vapour barrier film, nor does it secure the joint against the penetration of pressurised water. The tape is not suitable for bonding to unplaned wood or masonry and is not intended for bonding vapour barriers.
Assembly
Isover SP AL is a single-sided adhesive tape. It is affixed over the edge of the foil so that the two strips of foil are joined. Before application, the covering layer is gradually removed from the underside of the tape and the tape is affixed to the film directly from the roll. The tape should not be used in a situation where, for example, anhydrite screeds, self-levelling materials, etc., are maturing in the room, i.e., when there is increased humidity in the room caused by temporary construction processes.
Packaging, transport, warehousing
The tape is packed in boxes of 24 rolls. The product should not be mechanically damaged during transport. Storage in a dry and dark place is recommended.
