Product Characteristics
Isover EPS Ground Protect 29 base insulation boards are a special type of EPS boards molded into forms for demanding thermal insulation of structures in direct contact with moisture. This technology and the use of special raw materials provide the boards with exceptional properties. The boards are particularly characterized by an excellent thermal conductivity coefficient λD = 0.029 W·m-1·K-1, minimal water absorption, high compressive strength, and frost resistance. They are manufactured in the EPS 150 strength class, making them suitable for highly loaded structures. The boards have a double-sided waffle texture for excellent adhesion of adhesives and coatings. Just like extruded polystyrene (XPS) boards, these boards do not require additional waterproofing. Modern technology ensures consistent quality and minimal energy consumption during production, resulting in an excellent price/performance ratio. All Isover EPS boards are produced in a self-extinguishing version for enhanced fire safety.
Applications
Isover EPS Ground Protect 29 base insulation boards are intended for the base areas of insulated walls within an ETICS insulation system, as well as for non-insulated masonry structures. These boards are also used for bases above balconies, terraces, etc., where their high resistance to impact and moisture is particularly beneficial.
Three main functions: 1. Eliminating the typical thermal bridge at the transition from the wall to the concrete foundation. 2. Creating a reliable detail for terminating waterproofing above ground level. 3. Allowing a continuous plaster system down to the ground level.
Adhesion is typically performed using cement-based adhesives according to the specific ETICS insulation system. For adhesion to waterproofing, PUR adhesive foams or solvent-free bitumen-based adhesives are used. Base insulation boards are usually reinforced with a strengthening layer, followed by a high-quality thin-layer plaster or cladding.
Packaging, Transport, Storage
Isover EPS Ground Protect 29 insulation boards are packed in PE film in bundles with a maximum height of 500 mm. The boards must be transported and stored under conditions that prevent their deterioration. They should not be stored for long periods in direct sunlight.
