Product Characteristics

The insulating casing with black aluminum foil, U Protect Vent Section Alu2, is made of stone wool ULTIMATE. The insulating casing has the shape of a hollow, longitudinally split cylinder made from a single segment, with a locking mechanism preventing heat loss through the longitudinal groove. The casing features an overlapping foil with self-adhesive tape on the longitudinal joint for perfect sealing.

Application

The U Protect Vent Section Alu2 insulating casing is certified as part of the ULTIMATE Protect fire protection system for fire-resistant small-diameter HVAC ducts according to the ČSN EN 1366-1 standard (fire resistance of 30, 45, 60, and 90 minutes). Fire resistance parameters are listed in the system technical datasheet.

Although the insulation fibers are hydrophobic, the mat must be properly protected within the structure against moisture (against weather influences in outdoor applications) and potential mechanical damage.

The maximum operating temperature according to the ČSN EN 14706 standard is 400 °C. For foil-coated mats, the insulation thickness must be chosen so that the temperature on the foil side does not exceed 100 °C. In the part of the insulation exposed to temperatures above 150 °C, a one-time evaporation of the binder occurs. This phenomenon does not occur in areas with lower temperatures.

Packaging, Transport, Storage

The product is supplied in boxes that can be palletized. The material must be transported and stored under conditions that prevent moisture absorption or other damage.
