Product characteristics
Pipeline insulation sleeves are carved from Orstech Block blocks made of stone wool. Insulating sleeves are cut by individual producers, who then distribute them on the market under various trade names. To specify the available range of insulating cases and their prices, it is necessary to contact the partners listed on the other side of this technical sheet directly.
The insulating sleeve has the shape of a hollow longitudinally divided cylinder made of one or more segments, with a lock preventing heat loss through the longitudinal groove. The product can be coated with aluminum foil. The case with adhesive tape is equipped with an overlap of foil with self-adhesive tape on the longitudinal joint for perfect closure of the case. We recommend to pull down the insulating sleeves in the transverse direction (around the perimeter) with aluminum self-adhesive tape. Alternatively, it is possible to pull the casing down with a wire, usually in three places per running meter.
Usage
The insulating sleeve is ideal for pipe insulation in TZB and industry.
Although the fibers of the insulation are hydrophobized, the final product must be protected in a suitable way in the construction from moisture (in the exterior from weather influences) and possible mechanical damage.
The highest operating temperature in the sense of the ČSN EN 14707 standard is 600 °C. The thickness of the insulating sleeve must be selected so that the temperature on the side of the aluminum foil does not exceed 100 °C. In the part of the insulation that is exposed to temperatures higher than 150 °C, the binder is released once. In areas with a lower temperature, this phenomenon does not occur.
Packaging, transport, storage
Insulating sleeves are packed in cardboard boxes or loose (for larger diameters). Detailed information on request. Insulating cases must be transported in covered means of transport under conditions that exclude their wetting or other deterioration. They are stored in covered areas.
