Thermal insulation over unheated premises

A bedroom over an unheated garage, a sitting room over a cellar, or a kitchen over a passage to a residential building are all examples of places requiring thermal insulation of the ceiling. The minimum insulation thickness values vary by around 140 mm. If the insulation is not installed directly in the ceiling, additional thermal insulation may be installed by gluing the insulation material under the concrete ceiling or placing it in the outer resistant soffit.
