Thermal insulation of the ceiling under unheated premises

The ceiling may be thermally insulated with additional thermal insulation placed on the ceiling construction itself or in the soffit under the ceiling. The selection from these two possibilities depends on the future requirements for use of the premises over or under the construction to be designed. Placing the insulation freely on the current ceiling is a more frequent solution, however. The minimum thickness values of thermal insulation vary by around 200 mm in such cases.
