Thermal insulation of sandwich constructions with polystyrene

Wooden buildings have played an important role in the field of housing and the building industry since time immemorial. The variety of the ways to provide wooden buildings with thermal insulation is very wide and always depends on the individual construction design. Industrially made sandwich panels, which are completed very quickly and effectively on the construction site, are used most often, or the thermal insulation is prepared by inserting the insulating material into prepared racks in the external wall, which is then covered on both sides with boards, most often on a base of wood or wood-fibre materials. Depending on the power demands of the building, insulation materials with a thickness from 200 mm (for standard houses) up to 400 mm (low-energy and passive houses) are used.
