Thermal insulation of basement walls
A basement wall below the depth of the non-freezing below the depth of the non-freezing level (about 80 cm) is fitted with insulation, the depth of which corresponds approximately to one half of the thickness of the insulation on the common wall above the ground if it has been decided to use the cellar premises throughout the year. The insulation material must not absorb humidity and must be mechanically resistant in order to withstand the pressure of the surrounding soil. The deeper the wall is below the ground, the firmer the insulation material that is necessary.
