Thermal insulation of a flat roof
Although a flat roof may not be required to be designed for walking on, a number of requirements laid down by technical standards must be taken into account in the course of the design procedure. Such a roof must be able to carry a load of wet snow or snow blown against the walls, must not let water penetrate into the protected premises, must not let flames spread across its surface and must certainly prevent expensive heat energy from escaping to the atmosphere
